About the OTC Foundation

The OTC Foundation was established in 1997 to meet the growing needs of the college. As enrollment increased, the college needed a way to expand services and facilities while keeping tuition affordable. Today, the foundation continues its mission of supporting the college through securing private gifts, building partnerships and advocating for students and the college.

The OTC Foundation is governed by a volunteer, 29-member Board of Directors. The board is composed of community leaders representing a broad cross-section of businesses and non-profits within the college’s service area. Board members are carefully chosen by their track record of community service.

The Foundation’s donor base consists of people committed to serving southwest Missouri by adding highly trained students to the workforce. The Board of Directors and Foundation staff steward charitable donations with pragmatic policies, regular internal and external auditing, and steadfast donor communication.

What We Do

The OTC Foundation exists to inspire support of education through giving and by establishing a culture of philanthropy. It works to secure private financial resources to support the college in its mission of providing accessible and affordable learning opportunities.

The Foundation provides scholarships, secures funding for building expansions, raises funds for equipment purchases, advocates for the college and ensures a successful future for OTC. Each year, the Foundation awards more than $300,000 in scholarship assistance to hundreds of OTC students with financial need. It also supports the programs and capital projects at the college by securing and managing funds on its behalf.

As the college continues to grow, the Foundation works to keep tuition low and to build additional spaces for student use. It secures resources to obtain the latest equipment and instructional materials, ensuring OTC’s classes keep up with industry standards. The Foundation continually advocates for the college and forms relationships between OTC and the community.
